About

Handmade Jewellery — Redefined Luxury.

Hi, I’m Marbles — maker, dreamer, and founder of Cherry Red Studio. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I have a background in Arts and worked as a 3D animator for a number of years, always finding an interest in the creative fields. However, creating handmade jewellery has been a lifelong dream of mine — one I held close for many years, even when life made it feel out of reach. Whenever I could, I threw myself into jewellery-making classes, learning new techniques and gathering skills like treasures of their own. I didn’t always know where it would lead, but I knew this dream was waiting for me.

A turning point

In 2022, I faced something I never expected. A sudden illness left me unable to control or feel my arms, hands, or fingers. The outcome was uncertain, and doctors told me it could take up to two years to know if I’d regain full use. It was frightening and humbling — especially for someone whose greatest joy came from working with their hands.

Determined to heal, I began the long process of retraining my body. My fine motor skills in my fingers were slow to return, and I needed a new way to push myself. Living close to the coast, I started going to the beach to collect sea glass — tiny, weathered gems beautifully softened by the ocean over decades. At first, it was difficult to pick them up. But the sea gave me space to be quiet, to be present, and to start again.

Piece by piece, I got stronger.

From healing to creating

Eventually, I returned to my bench — adapting tools and relearning my silversmithing skills. I began pairing my beach-found sea glass with reclaimed silver, and something clicked. These materials, once discarded or forgotten, were now the building blocks of something beautiful. Something new.

And just like that, Cherry Red Studio was born.

What I make — and why

At Cherry Red Studio, I create handmade jewellery using reclaimed, recycled, and recyclable materials. Every piece is designed to celebrate individuality, sustainability, and the beauty of imperfection. The sea glass I use is naturally tumbled and handpicked. The silver is responsibly sourced or repurposed. No two pieces are ever the same — because no two stories are.

I named my studio, Cherry Red after the vivid glow silver turns when it's perfectly heated and reaches malleability, a flash of transformation, where raw potential becomes creation.

What I believe

I believe in slow fashion, small-batch making, and honest materials. I believe jewellery should feel meaningful — not just something you wear, but something you connect with. A story. A second chance. A spark of something real. A truer beauty.

I hope you find a piece that speaks to your journey, just as these pieces have spoken to mine.

Thank you for supporting this dream and choosing handmade, sustainable jewellery. It means more than you know.
